The Endeavour (sometimes spelt Endeavor) was a British merchant ship launched in 1760.  In 1768, after the Endeavour became assigned to the British Navy, Captain Cook went on his famous exploration voyages to Australia and New Zealand. and finally landed at Botany Bay, Sydney at the command of the Endeavour.

Today, a real-size replica of the HMB Endeavour sails the seas.  This replica was built in Fremantle, in Western Australia.  It is a true replica of the Endeavour however also includes engines and a modern kitchen and accommodation. Importantly, it is just as majestic as the original.  The replica Endeavour was present for the bicentennial festivities in Sydney, Australia - where it is usually based

The HMB Endeavour is currently back home in Western Australia. On an additional note, if you are in Perth in December, head down to Fremantle for the ISAF Sailing Championships 2011!
