The Albatros is one of a series of
schooners that was built with one gun deck in 1840. The Albatros was
built partly with a purposefully slim hull, largely to imitate the
French frigates of the time, to allow for a highly manoeuvrable ship.
The Albatros and other similar schooners of its class were used to carry
goods such as timber or coal.
This model of the Albatros schooner
is delivered fully built and varnished.
The Albatros modelship has a total of seven turned brass cannons gracing
its deck, as well as handmade cloth sails.
